How To Make Weed Olive Oil

Any stoner worth their salt has made weed butter, but have you made weed olive oil? If not, then you should seriously making some. I’ll show you the easiest way to make olive oil using marijuana with my favorite recipe.
What You Need To Make Weed Olive Oil:
- 1/4 oz of Marijuana
- Baking Sheet
- Aluminum Foil
- 5 oz Olive Oil
- French Press
- Large Saucepan or Pot
- Glass Jar
How To Make Weed Olive Oil:
The first thing when need to do when making our marijuana infused olive oil is to decarb our cannabis. This should be the first step of making any edible.
To give you the “explain like I’m 5” version of decarboxylation, it’s when you turn the THCA molecules into psychoactive THC. If you do not go through the process of decarboxylation, your oil/butter/edibles will not be as potent as it could and should be.
Decarbing the weed is simple.
Preheat your oven to 280 degrees. Take a baking sheet and cover it with aluminum foil. Spread your weed out in a single layer over the baking sheet. Place another layer of aluminum foil on top, crimping loosely on the sides. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to sit for 5 minutes with the foil still on top.
Bring a large pot of water to a gentle simmer.
Place the french press in the pot. Pour the oil inside. If you do not have a french press you can use a double boiler, then strain it through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer at the end.
Add the decarbed marijuana to the olive oil. Place the top back on the french press. Press the plunger until it is just above the oil. Make sure the water in the pot is always above the oil line. It is important to check every 20-30 minutes, as the water will evaporate and you will need to add more. Set a timer so you don’t forget.
Once the weed olive oil has simmered for 4 hours, remove it from the pot. Press the plunger all the way down and strain the olive oil into a glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for longest life.
